Been to Vegas several times now- always an affordable trip if you plan ahead- CityPass (make sure you do the activity reservations in advance) and get a City Bus Pass in advance- way cheaper than uber (but Uber is not really expensive- Speak to the locals and ask them the difference since the mob left- so eye opening.
The strip is as fun as you expect- but dont get sidetracked and walk too far- you will pay for it the next day.
